Hi, I’m Lucy (or Luce), the creator of FootLuce Adventures!
I’m from the UK and grew up near a small city called Worcester. I have since lived in Canada, London, Australia, Bristol, and now call Edinburgh my home.
I’m currently solo travelling and working through Asia. So far, I’ve been hiking in Nepal to Annapurna Base Camp, discovered the delights of Taiwan and am now in SE Asia.
I’ve been travelling all my life
Travel is my absolute passion and it has been ever since I was taken on many adventure and skiing holidays when I was young. My first backpacking trip was at age 18 on the classic round-the-world route (USA, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand) and since then I have continued to travel whenever I can. I’m always planning my next long weekend, holiday or big trip, and it’s fair to say that all of my disposable income has gone on travelling! Maybe with the odd beer, wine or G&T, thrown in too.
Making my dream a reality
I dislike the “9-5” routine, and when you are travelling, there is no chance of getting stuck in a rut of a routine. Unless you choose to, that is.
Right before my current trip, I travelled through Central America and Colombia for nearly four months with a friend, which is when I realised I could make travel AND work happen.
In February 2018, I got my first contract to work remotely. I am a freelance event producer and marketing consultant. I was already doing freelance work in the UK and combined with all the travelling I had done before, I felt confident that I could make the transition to full “digital nomad” a success.
I work for a range of clients putting together B2B conference programs, working on marketing strategy and implementation, including building websites, social media, PR and more.
“I travel a lot; I hate having my life disrupted by routine.”

Where I’m going next
I’ll be travelling and working my way through Vietnam, Myanmar, The Philippines, Borneo and Indonesia. I’d also love to go to Sri Lanka, back to New Zealand, Japan, basically the list is endless…
I want to share my experiences and help you to plan your trips too. Please follow my journey here for tips on destinations, outdoor activities, the best places to work from, and of course, the most delicious things to eat!
